Washiclub Kodaiji offers practical accessories made from colorful Japanese paper
This shop is located on the first floor of the shopping district "Rakuichi Nene" in front of the Kodaiji temple. Multi-colored accessories made of Japanese paper are sold here. Many of the accessories here are practical, and are great not only as gifts, but for use in daily life. With its proximity to the “Nene no michi” sightseeing spot, we hope you’ll visit this shop during one of your strolls in Kyoto.

Kaishi(zen paper)
/ 30pieces ¥440~
This type of Japanese paper is used for making chopstick holders by folding it. Folding instructions are available and are given to you upon purchase. Because the ink used to color these washi are made with soy products, they are safe even in the unlikely event that you ingest them.

Washi Card
/ 1piece ¥756
Each of these cards is hand-painted, making them one of a kind. They are great for decorating your room, or as postcards. The cards shown in this photo are items popular with foreigners, depicting bamboos and the colorful leaves of autumn.

How to buy
Choose accessories by preference of utility or design. If you can’t make up your mind, consult with the staff, who can answer your questions with rudimentary English skills and hand gestures.
- Shopping Tips -
Washi is strong and durable, but it’s still paper, so it doesn’t take well to water.
