Yuzumiso, with the fragrance of citron, in lovely jars
This long-established shop was founded about 300 years ago. Its specialty is Yuzumiso, which it sells packed into charming pottery jars shaped like citrons. Yuzumiso is a unique condiment made by adding citron and several other ingredients to miso (fermented soybean paste). It features the rich flavor and aroma of citron (yuzu), but elegant sweetness. It goes very well on steamed vegetables, rice, or bread. You will also enjoy the look of this store, where you’ll find the atmosphere of old Japan from the days when it first opened.
Yuzumiso in a wooden box
Yuzumiso in a wooden box / 130g ¥900│200g ¥1,350
The wooden box version is less expensive than the pottery. Yuzumiso pairs well with warm rice, warmed seasonal vegetables, or grilled fish. We recommend smearing it on bread instead of jam. The flavor is strong, so a little goes a long way. Best eaten within 30 days when kept at room temperature.
Yuzumiso in a pottery
Yuzumiso in a pottery / 60g ¥2,600│220g ¥3,600│510g ¥6,700
The Yuzumiso is sold in beautiful, attractive pottery, suitable as a gift. Best when eaten with 40 days of opening, as it lasts longer than the wooden box version. *From the front, 60g, 220g, 510g sizes

The signboard
The signboard was created by Rosanjin Kitaoji, a painter and calligrapher who is famous in Japan and abroad. It's a valuable work and it decorates the store. * The signboard outside is a replica.
How to buy

If you plan to eat it at home, try the wooden box version. If you plan to give it as a gift, the pottery version is recommended. We also offer sets of Yuzumiso and Akadashi miso.
