Designed by a famous Italian maestro, inspired by the autumn foliage of Kyoto, the brand bags of Caede can only be bought in Kyoto
Caede Tominokoji Flagship Store is right by Nishiki Market, and even though it’s located in a quiet alley, this red building with its four floors and huge autumn leaves on its walls, this store really stands out from the rest. Inside the spacious store, you have space all around you and everything feels very organized. Caede was started when the Italian designer behind this brand, Gabriele Candelori, once came to Kyoto on his travels. He fell in love with the beauty of Kyoto’s autumn leaves, and thus was born the leather bag brand Caede. Gabriele Candelori was also inspired by the historic layout of Kyoto, which has been this way since the Heian period, and the wooden lattices of machiya townhouses, and he combined these things into his leather bag line known as Zima. Besides leather bags, you can also get items such as wallets, purses, leather planner covers, and they’re all great for everyday use. These products combine the best parts of Italy and Kyoto, and they can only be bought in Kyoto, so if you like leather bags, be sure to pay Caede Tominokoji Flagship Store a visit!

The bags here are designed by a famous Italian designer who was inspired by the beauty of Kyoto’s autumn. The bags have that Kyoto-feel to them and they’re made using high-quality leather. I felt that their Zima-line was the most special, as its inspired by the regularity of the city of Kyoto, and it also feels nice and different when you take the bags in your hands. The store is close to Nishiki Market so it’s easy to get to, so when you come to Kyoto, be sure to pay it a visit!

This is the only place in the world where you can buy bags made by Caede. Do I need to say anything more than this? And the shop is in a very special building, as this traditional-looking place contains three floors full of leather bags and accessories, and even an atelier for the Italian designer behind this brand, Gabriele Candelori.
