Story & Recommendation
Get functional and good quality clothes at the long established select shop of LOFT MAN COOP KYOTO on Teramachi-dori Street
LOFT MAN COOP KYOTO is a select shop on the shopping street of Teramachi Kyogoku Shopping Arcade. This select shop chain began here in Kyoto. This select shop, COOP KYOTO, mainly sells clothing for men. They have different concepts for their first and second floor. On the first floor, they have functional clothes from brands home and abroad. What’s special about the products on the first floor is the variety: their styles vary from classics to modern ones, but all of them can be worn daily. The second floor is reserved for designer brands that make you feel the enthusiasm the designers must have had for those clothes. You also can’t leave out that they also have clothes by brands that originate from Kyoto on both floors. I’m sure you will find functional and good quality clothes that fit your lifestyle at LOFT MAN COOP KYOTO. LOFT MAN COOP KYOTO is a shop on Teramachi Kyogoku Shopping Street visited by all fashionable Japanese men.

First floor where they have functional clothing you can wear daily
First floor where they have functional clothing you can wear daily
The first floor is divided into three areas, the first being outdoor brands like Patagonia and The North Face. They have the largest selection of Patagonia products among authorized resellers in Kyoto. In the back they have more casual but still functional clothing. There are Japanese and foreign brands and it’s a fun place to visit even if you just pop in to look.

Designer clothing designed by designers enthusiastic about their work
Designer clothing designed by designers enthusiastic about their work
The second floor has clothes made by designers with strong personalities, and they have products by COMME des GARCONS and Frank Leder among others.Compared to the clothes on the first floor, the products on this floor are more traditional, so I recommended getting some clothes from both floors. By wearing some American 70’s style clothing from the first floor with some clothing from the second floor you can get a nice American style going which is not over the top.

SASSAFRAS’ pants (Kyoto brand)
SASSAFRAS’ pants (Kyoto brand)
These pants by SASSAFRAS, a brand from Kyoto, are on sale on the first floor. This brand, SASSAFRAS, is a brand from Kyoto specializing in clothing made for gardening. They are made in Japan, fabric and sewing both. They are, of course, good for gardening but because of their unique design, they also look great as a fashion item. I can heartily recommend SASSAFRAS’ pants because they are good quality and their designs are creative.

COMME des GARCONS SHIRT FOREVER
COMME des GARCONS SHIRT FOREVER
My recommendation on the second floor is these COMME des GARCONS shirts by the brand SHIRT Forever. This brand is a special one among COMME des GARCONS brands because they only specialize in shirts. They are really particular about the materials and sewing of their shirts. If you wear a shirt like that, I’m sure you will your back just straighten naturally.
