Story & Recommendation
Beautiful seasonal Japanese cuisine at a famous 2 Michelin star restaurant
About a 5-minute walk from Shijo Subway Station. Wagokoro Izumi is located a short distance east of Bukkoji-dori street. Look for the big noren curtain and the white letters of "Wagokoro Izumi". This is a restaurant where the owner, who trained for 13 years at "Sakurada," another famous kaiseki restaurant in Kyoto, is a master of his craft. It has a high rating of 2 Michelin stars. The restaurant has tatami rooms, table seating, and counter seating around a "tsuboniwa" inner garden. The hanging scrolls and tableware reflect the current season, and the entire restaurant expresses the four seasons of Japan. Wagokokoro Izumi's specialty is its beautiful "Hassun" assortment of appetizers, which looks like a work of art. It is the one that most strongly reflects the sense of the season, skillfully expressing the four seasons by incorporating seasonal ingredients, Kyoto's traditional customs, along with other elements. The impact and beauty of its appearance is such that customers always cheer when it is brought to them. Located in the city center of Kyoto and easily accessible, the famous kaiseki restaurant Wagokoro Izumi is a restaurant you should not miss when visiting Kyoto! *Reservations can be made through Sharing Kyoto's concierge service.

Omakase Lunch Course
Omakase Lunch Course / ¥7,150, ¥12,650 (tax and service charge are not included)
There are two types of Omakase lunch courses available with different contents according to your budget. The owner of the restaurant goes directly to the production area to learn from the producers about their commitment to the ingredients and the production process, and his dishes reflect the wonder he feels when he learns about the ingredients. The picture shows the soup served with the ¥12,650 course. The beautifully colored dish using thick fried bean curd, Japanese mugwort fish cake, and sweet sea bream, perfect for the spring season when we visited for the interview, is very thrilling. The contents of the bowls also change seasonally, so you will always find something new to discover whenever you visit. Course meals change according to the seasons. The picture is an example.
