What is a Reservation Request?
A Sharing Kyoto Reservation Request allows you to reserve Kyoto restaurants that only accept bookings in Japanese over the phone by having our staff call on your behalf.
This service was born out of a desire by the Sharing Kyoto staff to have travelers enjoy the truly incredible, homely restaurants of Kyoto rather than those often crowded by tourists.
However, as it's often these restaurants that struggle the most with bookings due to the language barrier, we decided to create this service and allow you to make reservations without having to call the restaurant directly.
Most of the restaurants available are not listed on other non-Japanese booking websites, so if you find one that piques your interest, submit a request and enjoy an unforgettable time in Kyoto.
As this service only began in early 2020, additional restaurants will continue to be added with time.
How do I use this service?
In order to use this service, you must register as a Free member.
Please register here if you have not already.
Reservation Requests are available for those restaurants marked "Reservation Available" in Sharing Kyoto's Restaurants tab.

Inside the restaurant's article, press the "Reserve" button, continue to the following pages, fill in a request form and submit it.
What's next?
After submitting a Reservation Request, you will be sent an automatic email.
Once Sharing Kyoto has received your request, you will be contacted via email and through the "Requests" page in the "My Menu" tab.
We will do our best to contact you within 3 business days; however, due to the nature of the service, there is a possibility that it may take time for reservations to be confirmed. Reservations are also not guaranteed.
Please note that if your request is sent outside of business hours, it will be handled on the following business day. (Business hours: Weekdays 10:00-18:00) Click here for a calendar of business days.
Please refrain from submitting reservation requests in the 3 business days prior to the reservation. While we will do our best to service the request, Kyoto is home to many small restaurants with limited capacity, so such short notice reservations often result in undesirable outcomes. We recommend that you submit reservation requests at least 1-week prior to the reservation.
Important Information
This service is based on a relationship of trust between Sharing Kyoto and the restaurants involved. We ask that you refrain from making both general and last-minute cancelations. If you need to cancel due to unavoidable circumstances, please read the following and cancel as soon as possible.
Cancellations are accepted via the “Reservation Request History” page up to 3 days prior to the reservation date.
Please contact the restaurant directly for further cancellations.
Restaurants will only hold reservations for 30 minutes, so please arrive early or on time.
Any disruptive behavior such as no-shows, will result in some functions being deactivated on your account.
We will do our best to contact you within 3 business days; however, due to the nature of the service, there is a possibility that it may take time for reservations to be confirmed. Reservations are also not guaranteed.
If we do not contact you within 3 business days, please contact us via the "Contact" page or the email address attached to the Reservation Request confirmation email.
