Story & Recommendation
Gaze through the whole of Kyoto city from this symbolic tower!
Established in 1964, Kyoto Tower has been one of the most famous landmarks of Kyoto for many years. Its unique figure was made in the image of a lighthouse. Different from the Eiffel Tower and Tokyo Tower, Kyoto Tower is not made with a steel frame. Instead of a steel frame, special steel plate cylinders are connected by welding to make this round shape. Inside the tower, there are souvenir shops, a 100 yen store called Daiso on the 2nd floor, and several kinds of restaurant on various floors. There is also a public bathhouse in the basement, so you might want to check it after out looking over Kyoto at the top of the tower.
