Story & Recommendation
Long-Established Japanese tea shop, Fukujuen in Kyoto
Established in 1790, Fukujuen has been loved locally, nationally and also internationally. Their flagship store, Kyoto Honten, was established in the heart of Kyoto, where the sophistication of Kyoto’s cultural goods converges with luxury and elegance. At Fukujuen, their hope is to facilitate new experiences with tea, and that you may lead an enriched life. Under this slogan, they have culminated the slender of Kyoto’s artistic tradition through the art of tea. There are 9 floors including the basement floor in this shop and every floor has its own concept and theme to present Uji teas. You may enjoy their delicate tea and also their Omotenashi, the hospitality.

5th Floor "Kyo no Chagu"
On the 5th floor, it presents tea utensils. They are all delicate and sophisticated in designs, and they are all original products that you can only make a purchase in this shop. Tea utensils vary depending on the tea you would drink. Our recommendation goes to the Matcha bowls as the designs and the round shape are very pretty.
