Story & Recommendation
Kitchen Shop Kawataki-Kyoto sells all kinds of daily necessities from all around Japan
This zakka-shop opened near Nishiki Market in March 2016. When you go into Kitchen Shop Kawataki-Kyoto you’re greeted by the warm atmosphere of it, made possible by the wooden interior and warm lighting. On the first floor they mainly sell tableware, whereas the second floor is reserved for kitchenware. On the second floor they also have a place where you can sit down, read some magazines, and enjoy a cup of coffee for 150 yen. How delightful! The products they sell are from all over Japan, like pottery from Kyoto, like Kiyomizu-yaki; Shigaraki-ware from Shiga; Iga-donabe pots from Mie, and furoshiki (wrapping cloth) from all over Japan, among other things. You can spend quite a long time just looking at all the products here! I’m sure that if you go to Kitchen Shop Kawataki-Kyoto, you’re going to have a much more colorful and interesting kitchen!
